The government is not like other brands. It’s unique. Over decades of working with Brogan’s government clients, we’ve learned it takes certain expertise, experience and insights to craft messages to a group as diverse as our population. Especially when it comes to inspiring behavior change, promoting outreach and furthering education. In this post, we wanted to focus on the kind of educational campaigns we’ve created for our government clients.

For the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, we created a campaign for sustainable forestry. Michigan is known for its beautiful landscape, but many people didn’t realize how forestry impacts the environment, economy, and people’s mental health. So in this campaign we leveraged the wisdom of trees to teach people about sustainable forestry.

This rich media unit provides an interactive immersive experience to engage and educate our target audience and then drives them to a landing page to learn more.

For decades, we have been the agency of record for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. We’ve worked on over 200 programs educating the public on topics such as drinking water, lead, radon, PFAS, disease prevention, vaccination, mental health, substance use disorder, problem gambling and infant safe sleep. And while together with MDHHS we educated the state on these programs, we found there was a gap in knowledge to what our client, MDHHS, did. People didn’t realize all the things that state and local public health does for the community. So working together, we created a campaign to change that. From testing the water and trapping mosquitos to safeguarding vital records to licensing tattoo parlors, this campaign showcased the team behind the scenes working hard to keep us all healthy and safe.

The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency came to us help them educate children about the armed forces. In past generations, many families had relatives that served. But for kids today, they may not have exposure to people in the military. With Operation S.A.M. (Support America’s Military), our spokesperson takes them through the different branches and shows how they work together to make our country safe. And how it’s our mission to support the military and their families in return.
