HoneyBaked boosts fan engagement on Facebook.
There’s a reason why so many brands have implemented gamification in their marketing strategy. While there are many benefits of gamification, the biggest one may be the fact that gamification increases engagement by 100 to 150 percent. Fans are willing to spend time on content that’s fun, requires problem solving and involves competition. With that in mind, HoneyBaked created rebuses that spelled out classic Christmas songs and asked people to name the tune. More than 2,000 people commented on the post below with their best guess. Can you solve the rebus below? Can you name that holiday tune?

Asos creates an advent calendar on Instagram.
Traditionally, families celebrate the anticipation of Christmas with an advent calendar. The calendar has numbers that countdown the days leading up to Christmas, and occasionally contain a small gift. Last December, retail brand Asos decided to create its own virtual advent calendar on Instagram. In the days leading up to Christmas, Asos uploaded a daily photo on Instagram, along with a daily countdown hashtag. Fans could be entered to win the items in the photo when they uploaded photos of their own with the daily hashtag. It was a great way to build brand awareness and get people excited about the holidays, which would strategically prompt customers to do their Christmas shopping at Asos. If your brand has an Instagram account, try leveraging it for contests and giveaways this holiday.
