Detroit, MI – June 13, 2005 – Brogan & Partners Convergence Marketing is the Public Service Announcement Category winner of the Radio Mercury Awards held Wednesday, June 8, in New York City. The winning spot, “It’s Like They’re Smoking,” was created for the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) Second Hand Smoke campaign. Brogan & Partners and MDCH will donate the $2,500 cash prize to the Michigan Asthma Communication Network.
“The Michigan Department of Community Health is an exceptional client to work with and our team worked hard to come up with an effective campaign for them. Portraying children as smokers was a startling and powerful tool to accomplish the objective of raising awareness about the dangers of second hand smoke,” said Bonnie Folster, senior partner and executive creative director of Brogan & Partners.
The Radio-Mercury Awards encourage and reward the development of effective and creative radio commercials. Since its establishment in 1992, approximately 13,000 commercials have competed for more than $2.3 million in prizes. The Radio Creative Fund (RCF), a non-profit corporation funded by the Radio industry, governs the Radio-Mercury Awards. This year’s luncheon ceremony was held at Cipriani in New York City.
