Detroit, Mich. – March 28, 2005 – Linda Jennings, public relations director for the Detroit-based Brogan & Partners Convergence Marketing firm, has joined the board of Detroit Downtown Inc. (DDI). Jennings is not new to DDI, as she served on the board in the late 1990s.
Jennings began her career in Lansing with Governor James Blanchard's administration as an assistant scheduler in the Communications Office. When she left the political arena she headed to Detroit to become the public relations director for The Ritz-Carlton, Dearborn, where she helped maintain the luxury image of the Ritz.
Jennings then joined Hudson's (Marshall Fields) in the 1990's as special events director. She managed a team that planned and implemented more than 500 events per year including Detroit's annual Freedom Festival fireworks celebration.
Prior to joining Brogan, Jennings was director of corporate communications for Nextel. She was responsible for media relations for the Midwest region of the United States. While at Nextel she handled product launches, crisis communications, special events, internal communications and corporate giving.
