Job Description

The social media buyer must have demonstrated expertise across social media channels with planning and buying experience. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the social media campaigns from plan development to reporting, ensuring clients’ needs and expectations are fulfilled under the supervision of the Media Director.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Place and monitor social media campaigns, provide recap of performance for clients and strategic recommendations
  • Collaborate with team members to understand campaign objectives, target audiences, and key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide social media recommendations with supporting rationale and POVs
  • Develop detailed media plans, including budget allocations, scheduling, and ad placements
  • Set up and manage campaigns on social media platforms, ensuring proper targeting, bidding, optimizations and ad placement strategies
  • Use demographic, behavioral, and interest-based data to define target audiences using custom audiences, lookalike audiences, and retargeting list
  • Prepare performance reports with insights and recommendations
  • Stay updated on industry trends, platform updates and competitor strategies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1+ years of experience with social media planning and buying
  • Experience in planning, placing and reporting across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and more
    • Including establishing KPIs, identifying benchmarks, monitoring and optimizing campaigns, A/B testing, ensuring creative is displayed properly, identifying target audience targeting options
  • Know when and why to use different targeting methodologies (behavioral, contextual, demographic, lookalike, cross-device, retargeting, etc.)
  • Analytical
  • Strong drive to get things done and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player willing to roll up your sleeves and help the team as needed
  • Self-starter who can keep track of multiple projects and meet deadlines without direct manager to prioritize their workload
  • Strong communication skills
  • Deeply interested in understanding social media trends and best practices and an appetite to learn
  • Knowledge of website analytics tools such as Google Ads and Google Analytics
  • Proficient with pixel implementation and conversion tracking
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products
